I love the idea of living in a cabin somewhere remote like a forest or the mountains.
This idea appealed to me as a teenager. I worked with a woman in her 20s who spent a few months of the year living in the wilderness by herself. She talked about her treks looking for berries and her surprise encounter with a bear. She was so cool!
Putting down in words the thoughts mulling in my mind. Needlecrafts calm my spirit, genealogy shows me where I come from, and my dogs remind me I am not alone ~

I was totally on board with this until you said ‘bear.’
I used to backpack into our Green Mountains for a couple of solitary Camping Hermit weeks every summer when I first moved up here almost 30 years ago. But that was almost 30 years ago. Sigh.
Love the photo.

I think the bear is the reason I’ve never done this. I’m a chicken at heart!

I like the photo, too. I wish it was mine.
I loved camping when my kids were young, but those days are gone.
