Timbits are Tidbits!

These two-bite tidbits hit the spot when a donut is just too much!
Tim Hortons, a player in the National Hockey League, founded the business. The first store opened in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The business grew into a multi-billion dollar franchise with over 4,800 stores across Canada. It is a considered a popular icon of Canadian culture.
While coffee and donuts have always been a staple it wasn’t until 1976 that Timbits made their debut. The myth is that a baker, while making donuts, lamented the waste left over from the donut hole. Being frugal, he rolled the remaining dough into small balls and that is how the Timbit was created.
The truth is that Timbits were purposely designed as a marketing tool to increase revenue. At the time, Timbits were unique and to this day remain popular. It’s likely that these tasty, scrumptious tidbits of doughy goodness will be around for a long time to come. Yum!
Donuts….that sugary high for breakfast that I love!
